Fred Perry x Raf Simons

Paris Men’s Fashion Week spring/summer 2013 sees the relaunch of Fred Perry’s collaboration with Raf Simons (images above are from their previous collaboration). Having originally run from AW08 to SS11, the British sports heritage brand will once again receive a touch of Simons’ magic hand.

Simons is currently fashion’s most talked about designer. Leaving his job as creative director at Jil Sander earlier this year to fill the empty spot at Christian Dior, we saw proof of his sensibility for contemporary fashion. Since setting up his eponymous brand in 1995 in Antwerp he has shown collections inspired by youth and subcultures that have managed to change the look of menswear several times already.

The Fred Perry collaboration offers another dimension to Simons’ work. Disconnected from the high fashion context in which his collections are usually presented, he fuses the classic sportswear with his futuristic tailoring. “We are excited to relaunch the collaboration with Fred Perry,” the brand said. “We have great appreciation for the heritage of the brand as well as their dynamism in guiding the brand towards the future.”

The range will consist of 28 different styles and be available in all Laurel Wreath shops and online at www.fredperry.com
