Tonight the Hilfiger Denim Live night is kicking off in Paradiso, featuring Smith Westerns (pictured above) and Peaches, among others! Have you already read our interview with Peaches yesterday? We also had a quick chat with Smith Westerns, and asked them how excited they were to be headlining the night! Read it after the jump.

BLEND:\\So you are one of the headliners of tomorrow’s Hilfiger Denim Live. How do you feel about that?

Smith Westerns’ Cullen Omori: It’s always nice to headline, usually means people have some idea who you are or what you are about going into the show. It’s always good to see a look of “oh yeah, i know this song!! I like it!! :)” in the audience rather than a look of “what the fuck is this shit???!! :(” . I’m excited.

This is your second time playing in Amsterdam, if I’m correct. What’s different about playing here versus playing in The States?

We played here once before on our very first tour in Summer of 2010. It was my first time here playing as well as my first time in Amsterdam alltogether. We’ve always enjoyed ourselves in this city, it’s fun to walk around and the audience are always pretty respectful. The audience here tends to be quiet during softer songs and not be wasted and shouting like some of the shows in The States.

You’ve played quite some festivals last year, but none seem to be planned this year. Are you taking a break from festivals, anything to do with last year’s accidents?

Last year we had our record out so we had to tour as much as possible to get the word out about the record and us. We’ve spent the past 6 months writing the record and are about to go in to record it. I rather be not playing shows until we have something new to present to both current and future fans, and I think all our concentration should be on the record.

Your last album was released last year, when is your new album coming up? Any other exciting things coming up anytime soon?

New album about to be recorded hopefully this fall, and hopefully out next year some time. Other than that not much else.
