Devonté Hynes AKA Blood Orange has released his new video I’m Sorry We Lied. Hynes had released albums under the name of Lightspeed Champion in 2007 and 2010.

Bored of the overly cluttered Lightspeed Champion albums, Hynes wanted to get his music across in a simpler way. Hynes was writing for female singers, such as Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles, and the songs he created had a key that suited a female voice. Because Hynes had a throat operation in 2010, he had to learn to sing again. Influenced by 80s MOR singer FR David he aquired a rather androgynous falsetto. This is how Blood Orange came into existence.
