Recently New York-based artist Jennifer Rubell has exhibited one of her female nutcrackers at the Frieze Art Fair. The pre-fabricated mannequins have been turned into life-size nutcrackers which the visitors could interact with. 

According to the artist the sculptures ‘mbody the two polar stereotypes of female power: the idealized, sexualized nude female form; and the too-powerful, nut-busting überwoman’.
