COS AW 2012
Written by Arjen Roos
If it would be up to COS, we will all enjoy an Indian summer this autumn. The first striking feature of the AW 2012 collection is the modest, but fresh colour palette. Where COS is usually mostly black, grey and navy, this collection exists of many bright colours of nature, varying from off-whites and pastels to skin caramels and shades of green. The menswear collection is slightly darker than the womens collection. It contains a lot of grey and navy, yet a bright accent is allowed.
The clothing seems even more minimalistic than usual. The coats have no collars, the shirts have hidden buttons and there are hardly any stitches visible. The fabrics are how we have come to know them, thick wools and firm leathers, to keep us just as warm as the choice of colour. In some items a combination of different fabrics is made, like sleeves that differ from the body, or transparent satin layers over a woolen base. The tailoring seems to be inspired by former Prada collections.
