Weirded Out
Currently, San Francisco’s MoMA is hosting Weirded Out, a 60 foot mural by Dutch artist Parra. Joseph Becker, SFMoMA’s curator for architecture and design, approached Parra because he wanted to integrate the always tongue-in-cheek work the designer in the collection. After having visited Parra’s 2010 exhibition in LA Becker commisioned him to paint on a 60 feet wall on the second floor of the museum.
The text for the mural (which reads “She was alone most of the time, she got weirded out easily.”) was inspired by Kate Bush, whose music Parra frequently listened to while working on the mural.
Weirded Out is on display until July 29.
