Battle Royal wear

Sean McGirr Fall/Winter 2012 references the socio-cultural subjects in Koshun Takami’s “Battle Royale” (a film that plays in the future; the Japanese government captures a class of ninth-grade students and forces them to kill each other under the revolutionary Battle Royale act). His idea of a resistant youth translated into an intimate wardrobe, that applies the school uniform to a masculine plane, and a refined silhouette in strong layers. Smart tailoring meets street cred.  The palette carries a sci-fi subtext in tones of navy, pale grey mélange. charcoal and taupe pink. More photos after the jump.
