Mercedes-Benz Creative Places
The creative minds of the six Mercedes-Benz design studios worked overtime to get ready for one of the biggest auto shows, the IAA, which will be held in Frankfurt this Thursday. For this occasion Mercedes-Benz is presenting their new B-Class and concept cars like the futuristic F125 and the Viano Vision Pearl.
Earlier this year Blend visited the Advanced Design Studio in Como for a sneak preview. It’s quite a classy design spot. The studio is located in a 18th century villa with contemporary painted ceilings and floors of terracotta and wood. On top of it all; it’s just a five minutes walk from Lake Como. The twenty interior designers have carte blanche.
“In designing a concept car you have a lot of freedom, because you don’t have to take the production, marketing and engineering into consideration,” says the designer of the concept car Viano Vision Pearl. The interior of the Vision was his solo project. “And 1,5 years before the release I pull back,” says the creative mind in the Italian sun. He went mad with the luxurious van with wooden floors, brushed aluminum trim, internet connection, a 1320 Watt BeoSound-system and a panoramic vario-roof with Magic Sky Control.
We would like to do a road trip with this van from East to West.
