22-year-old electronic music producer Jamie xx started working on his solo career while he was touring with The xx. He took soul legend Gil Scott-Heron’s 2010 album I’m New Here, cut its tracks up into bits and pieces and created a completely new body of work. This resulted in the cleaverly titled album We’re New Here, which was released on record label Young Turks last month.

Last week, a video for I’ll Take Care Of U directed by Jamie-James Medina has been released. The video tells the story of Nisa Rodriguez, a 19-year old boxer and single mother from the Bronx, New York, as she works for a spot on America’s 2012 Olympic Boxing Team.
