Attend a screening of Efterklang’s film An Island

In August 2010, French filmmaker Vincent Moon and Danish 8-piece live band Efterklang met on an island off the Danish coast. The idea was to shoot a film that has the same length as an album and contains all kinds of live perfomances, experiments and collaborations.

In four intense days, Efterklang worked on this unconventional music performance film. Together with over 200 local musicians and families the band members have created new interpretations of songs from their 2010 album Magic Chairs. All of this was filmed by Moon and edited into a 50-minute movie.

Next month, An Island will be displayed in so-called Private-Public Screenings, which are for free and in a low-key setting. Because of the limited amount of available seats, several screenings have been fully booked already. For the Dutch: there’s one free screening that still has seats available in! Feb 27 \ 4pm \ EKKO \ Utrecht. If you’d like to attend, send an email to [email protected].
