LONESOME TOWN

In wild July, I knew I begun in June the
stubborn lie Was a wish to learn to forget
We knew in our eyes we’ve kept the bigger
secrets I couldn’t tell you that I wept

I pointed out my collective child soul
You collected my joy and low, in some
turbulent time a loaded beehive

Painting our faces with magic makeup
So the emotions separate

We rarely look if the other has given
up things to flourish a friendship or
relationship Sure we pretend but in
the end we pick our motive

The right one for us Even to go against
the sky we push and I suppose we must
For it is the most purest feelings we do not
trust Maybe that was only me like turbulence
more friction less romance No such thing as
a chance

In danger of what we allow ourselves to
be inflicted with I’ve let things over come
me in July I was right before the sun that
was rising high From the field a sunflower
tempted by every warming seed

A feeling I could not escape
A sensation that came too late
The illusion of love is an honest
dream Like the clouds that won’t
go away, they won’t set us free

Well there’s a storm across the
blue calm sea I wonder has it heard
me in my sleep The dreams I reap
Too frail too lonesome tale We wear out
our welcomes well With a transcending
hate wishing for opposite thirst

My body in no use

A silk string in air
Your eyes a maze
They sail I was never
where you were wanting
to go Why call me to the
game show As if I haven’t
already went low flying to
let go

Still burning I wanted to slay
And I heard they call it lonesome
town where the broken hearts stay
