The application period for BLOOOM Award, the art competition by Warsteiner, is now open! The fourth edition of this established competition calls for aspiring artists and creative folks. Young artists are invited to let their ideas flow and pass in their art online on www.blooomaward.com in order to win great prizes and the unique opportunity to exhibit their works. The goal of this competition is to promote young artists and to help them gain a foothold in the international art market. The application period runs from 1st April until 31st July 2013.

The traditional jury is reinforced by Yasha Young (international gallery owner and art journalist), Walter Gehlen (director of ART.FAIR and BLOOOM), patroness Catharina Cramer (managing companion of the Warsteiner group), Stefan Strumbel (mixed media artist), and Oliver Rath (photographer).

The 2012 edition of BLOOM Award received applications from over 800 artists, encompassing 29 nations, 6 continents and all of the diverse art disciplines. This year’s edition hopes to do even better. In August, the ten most outstanding works will be chosen and the finalists will be announced. These will be presented during a special exhibition at BLOOOM in Cologne from 31st October until 3rd November. As part of ART.FAIR, BLOOOM is one of the three main art fairs in Germany. For the majority of the finalists, this exhibition will be the most important one in their career so far.

The prizing ceremony will take place on 30th October, during the vernissage of BLOOOM. The first place winner will receive the support of one of the jurors for one year. During this year, the juror will acts as a mentor and will help the winner by providing tips, tricks and the contacts to promote his/her career. The other prizes consist of travels and solo exhibitions.

So, let’s go, start thinking about which pieces of work to submit as everything is allowed – from urban art, interactive objects, multimedia sculptures, paintings, digital art, photography to design, anything that could inspire young artists worldwide and conquer the hearts of the jury.
