Born in 1975 (Leidschendam, Netherlands) photographer and painter Casper Faassen created an early on fascination for many of the greatest painters history has come to be known. Inspired by names such as Rembrandt and Picasso have led to his own in-house atelier, where he creates marvelous pieces suspended between impressionism, realism and abstract influences. For the first time in his admirable career Faassen’s newest work titled ’SEISUI’ is now being exhibited at the Kahmann Gallery in Amsterdam.

After finishing secondary school, Faassen decides to go on a life changing journey to the States, feeling adventurous and eager to create something inspired by the multicultural society which influenced his work greatly. After this, his passion for creating and inventing is unstoppable. Once back in the Netherlands he decides against going to art school, feeling that art is not teachable to him. After completing a Marketing and Communication studies he pursues his craftsmanship in the artist complex between ’De bogen’ in Amsterdam. Hereafter he opens his very own in house atelier, where he works day and night for his rising success.

Now, for his very first solo exhibition Faassen has created 12 new photographic works inspired by Japanese print art. Kahmann Gallery stated: ”By combining photography with techniques used by painters, Faassen adds an extra dimension to his works. His photographs are built up like paintings, with different imaginary and physical layers, giving the viewer a feeling of distance and ate the same time a voyeuristic presence.”

A photography series as you have never experienced it before. The exhibition is open to public as from the 8th of May till the 3rd of June 2015.
