Lovers of art and music, don’t miss the World premiere of the Opera on the 15th of March.

You might think you don’t feel concerned about this kind of cultural event? Let’s see if you’re wrong! Opera is, after all, a form of music and art. This time, Opera is thinking in ways to be accessible for everyone thanks to the diversified line up.

The National Opera and Ballet will open the richest cultural week composed by a diversified line up that incorporates exhibitions, talk shows and opera sessions. These open minded activities give the opportunity for everybody to discover the opera’s world in a new way.

The program includes also exclusive collaborations with the museum FOAM and festivals like Rest is Noise or Fiber.

10 rhythmic days define art and culture under various forms with the four big opera performances, special events and the opera forward festival. All the performances are productions made by different artists during the Opera Forward festival.

To start with the Opera performances category, the Only The Sound Remains is composed of two stories by Kaija Saariaho. The topic of her work deals with Japanese inspiration to give a vision about the human soul.  Following the artistic line of humanity, Blank Out explores the human condition through a 3D Film produced by Michel Van Der Aa. Another performance created by Mussorgsky untitled Chovansjtsjina spreads a political vision through an opera piece. The last major opera performance is dealing with the human private life presented by Cimarosa. ‘The Secret Marriage’ results from a special collaboration with three Dutch Opera institutions.

However, the week is not done! Take the opportunity to attend several other special events such as the series of talks in relation with the role that Art plays today in everybody’s life. These sessions are lead by prominent artists and academic personalities such as Peter Sellars, Richard Sennett or Aernout Mik. The festival hosts also special performances produced by upcoming talents and some Off Days where the audience has the chance to focus on current musical developments. Above all, special events are attractive for the cultural nights where collaborations like FOAM and FIBER introduce artistic and creative atmospheres.
