‘Quotes on Shit’ recycles old crap into collectibles

New York-based designers Jessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman turn boring old junk into cool new junk with the use of spray paint and typography. The project is called ‘Quotes on Shit’ and features objects transformed by colourful new coats of paint and hand-lettering, combined with first-person sassy remarks such as a glass of wine saying ‘I’m cheaper than therapy’, a plastic duckling claiming ‘I’m not ugly’ or a cassette tape reminiscing ‘I used to matter’.

“When my grandparents passed away, I was saddened by all the stuff from their home that they once loved that no longer had a place to go. I took what I could but much of it ended up at junk shops. This saddened me, and it always has been in the back of my mind to create a project that gave new life to old things.” – Walsh

The two gather objects from junk shops, the streets, friends and their own homes. Walsh and Goodman post photographs of these objects on their Tumblr Quotes on Shit.
