Moncler x Leica

A photographic project – MONUMENT was revealed during Frieze Art Fair in London. Fabien Baron, founder of Baron & Baron and world renowned art director, was invited by Moncler to document a trip to Greenland to shoot a series of images using the brand new Moncler Edition Leica X113.

Using the latest technology of Leica, Baron achieved a series of sharp monumental monochrome images of the icebergs and landscapes of the arctic tundra in Greenland.

He was able to photograph in extreme temperatures and situations thanks to to Moncler’s advanced technology that provides coverage in the most extreme weather conditions imaginable. The imagery evokes perfect lighting, precise composition and a lot of detail. The project that incapsulates it is a combination of art, fashion and technology in the context of nature. The monochrome landscapes were all blown up to massive dimensions at the exhibition, providing us with a true essence of the gigantic scale of the icebergs, giving a feel of their elegant proportions.

“I am so proud of this new collaboration; a 360° project starting from Leica high-end technology, through to the art of photography and the creativity of a visionary artist as Fabien Baron, landing in Greenland to catch the spirit of Moncler in the magnificence of the ice. I thank Fabien for the solemnity of his pictures capturing the world of Moncler,” said Remo Ruffini, president of Moncler.

The exhibition will head to New York after its debut in London while the Moncler edition Leica will be available as of October at the Moncler flagship stores, Leica stores and online.
