It’s a day like any other as you’re rushing to that appointment, trying desperately not to be late. Out of nowhere, the ultimate cool guy appears, walking past you. For a second, you forget everything about today’s schedule and stop dead in your tracks. Making his way down the street, his casual coolness is turning heads. Yes, his rugged presence can most definitely be attributed to that sick attire from Daily Paper.

Young and fresh, Daily Paper is a menswear label based in Amsterdam. It was founded in 2010 and has ever since blessed us with streetwear inspired by the founder’s Dutch and African heritage. Putting an emphasis on tailoring and personal style, the label exudes authenticity and individuality. Daily Paper is also known to collaborate with various other brands, always bringing their crisp style to the table. Lately, the brand has also been expanding its scope. Earlier this year the label released a capsule collection for women, featuring bold prints and crop tops. Now Daily Paper is releasing their new fall/winter 2015 menswear collection.

The main aesthetic of the FW 2015 collection is tailored shapes with an urban flair. Inspired by the history of Burkina Faso, most of the prints and artworks are influenced by emblems used by Thomas Sankara, one of Africa’s most revolutionary leaders. The charismatic military captain is often seen as Africa’s Che Guevara, giving Daily Paper’s new collection a slight militaristic aftertaste. Inspired by vintage military attire, the collection makes use of a variety of different fabrics such as wool, cotton and nylon. To achieve a mix of casual and formal, the selection of garments offers staple pieces for the modern man.
