Insane in the membrane

Apparently this is what happens in the fins of a squid when listening to Cypress Hill’s ‘Insane in the Brain’! Although squids do not have ears, they react to the impulses when audio is converted to an electrical signal. This was then applied to the dorsal side of the caudal fin of the squid. The fins of a squid contain chromatophores; pigmented cells that come in three different colours, lined with up to 16 muscles. When these are stimulated the muscles contract en their colour is revealed. Definately insanity within these membranes!!
