Enter the fantastic universe of Eugenia Loli’s collages

Natural History Museum

Filmmaker and modern vintage collage artist Eugenia Loli originally stems from Greece and now lives in California where she develops these masterpieces that combine ultimate creativity with powerful imagery. Her works feature scenes that are very broad and allow each viewer a different interpretation through imagination.

“It’s important for me to “say” something with my artwork, so for the vast majority of my work there’s a meaning behind them. I usually do this via presenting a “narrative” scene in my collages, like there’s something bigger going on than what’s merely depicted.” – Eugenia Loli

Loli digitally manipulates found photos to create collages with gloomy undertones. Made for the blogosphere, Loli’s digital mash-ups grab the viewer’s attention through bold images featuring surprising backdrops. Her work presents a sense of intrigue combined while being visually pleasant – inspired by surrealism and other modern collagists. Her work might seem straightforward, but Loli encourages the viewer to incorporate his own personal experience in deciphering the layered messages of her graphics.
