citizenM @ Times Square, NYC

LOBBY JULIAN OPIE

The Dutch hotel chain citizenM has gone American with its latest expansion, last week. After hotels in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London and Glasgow, citizenM has opened up its first hotel in the USA, in Times Square, NYC.

With 21 floors and 230 rooms, it’s the biggest citizenM hotel to date. A rooftop bar and sky gym make it a unique and affordable hotel experience in the city that never sleeps.

CitizenM’s pioneering hotel concept has been updated with multiple outdoor spaces, such as the rooftop bar with city view, an outside terrace and a sky gym with outdoor yoga space. The lobby has been conceived as living room which offers guests the ultimate ‘home away from home’ feeling. Both guests and locals can plug in to work and canteenM offers quality food, cocktails and coffee 24/7.

citizenM continues it collaborations with architecture firm concrete, book store MENDO and Swiss design label Vitra. The new hotel in New York has gathered a collection of contemporary art and photography by Andy Warhol, Daido Moriyama, Florian Süssmayr and David LaChapelle. Julian Opie has made an impressive installation in the lobby, while each room has a digital art display from which guests can choose.

A night in citizenM NYC starts from $199.

citizenM NYC is far from the last stop: next up is Paris, London and South East Asia.
