Rotterdam based sock label Effio has just dropped its AW14 collection and it’s all about celebrating life. The brand draws its inspiration from Frater Venantius (aka Wim Sonneveld) who exactly 50 years ago sang: “Say yes to life, yes to life, or perhaps life might say no.” (or in Dutch: “Zeg maar ja tegen ‘t leven, ja tegen ’t leven. Anders zegt ‘r ‘t leven nog nee.”) This life philosophy has been translated by the sock designers to floral prints as part of the BLOOM series to say ‘live a colourful life’. Effio has also released a series of striped socks, called the NICETY series, to underline to enjoy life in all of its details. Finally there is the GLORIOUS series which pays homage to the ubiquitous but often hidden glamour of life.

Effio launched its first collection in September 2007 and now seven years later, the Effio team decided to design its fall-winter collection completely on their own. The label releases a new set of collections every six months and distinguish themselves through clean, minimalist designs, vivid colours and superior comfort.
