From November 14 to 16, the vacant building of De Sloot Office in Amsterdam  will be filled with a startling mix of music, performance, art & technology during the second edition of Kantor – The official cultural takeover. Driven by their passion for the creative industries, creative agencies PUP and Paardenkracht have joined forces with over 40 artists and collectives as well as renowned institutions including Eye, the national Opera & Ballet and Boijmans van Beuningen. For three days, the four floors of this tenantless property will fill up with creative excitement, including a cinema, theater, restaurant, gallery and live performances. BLEND has made a selection of the best installations Kantor has on offer.

Wing #1 – Creative Chef
The Creative Chef proofs that food is an art on its own with edible art installations. Take a bite from this artwork to enjoy this unique eating experience and take part in an interactive and culinary art project.

Wing #2 – Studio Dennis Vanderbroeck
Mixing fine art, performance, technology and fashion, artist Dennis Vanderbroeck has created a brand new installation, aiming to explore the manifestation of the artist as a brand. Help Dennis explore his brand, individuality and authenticity in this interactive artwork titled ‘It’s Lonely at the Top’.

Wing #3 – Denise Collignon
Denise Collignon is a creative floral design artist who creates inspiring installations out of natural materials. Her ‘Floral Sea’ installation will take you to a surrealistic underwater world featuring exuberant colors of blossoming florals.

Wing #4 –  Fashion in Motion
National filmmuseum EYE has selected the best material from their extensive archive to create a 55 minute fashion experience. This unique compilation will explore the complex relationship between the film-industry, fashion, advertising and our self expression.

Wing #5 – Scopic
Virtual reality production house SCOPIC , creative technology lab XS2TheWorld and music artist Daniel Sanchez will take you on a trip to the future of film in this abstract cinema experience. ‘Walls of Perception’ mixes virtual reality video and audio with 3D scanning and postproduction into an innovative story.

Wing#7 – Izabela Boloz
With her current installation ‘Intersections’, artist Izabela Boloz balances on the boundary of art and design. This social experience with a poetic yet playful feel creates surprising conditions which play with elements of time and space.

Wing#8 – Esmée Thomassen
Supported by the National Opera & Ballet, design talen Esmeé Thomassen will talk about her experience as costume designer for opera’s including Kopernikus and Reimsreisje and the intriguing relationship between fashion and the opera.
