Since ghostbusters and the odd children’s tv programs, we haven’t seen anything or anyone do this: pour slime all over you ! Bart Hess just did that…
to Lady Gaga ! In the video ‘Born This Way’ — directed by Nick Knight, made at SHOWstudio — you can’t have missed the organic liquids performing a slimy act some may know as Silly Putty — a substance that was created by accident in a search to produce synthetic rubber.

Do you like to slime ?
Yes, I love working with the slime. It is a very dynamic process in which I always get surprised.

When did you decided you wanted to slime Lady Gaga ?
19 november 2010 10:16:58 GMT+01:00
(at that time I did send the team of Lady Gaga my proposal).

Who would you like to slime next ?
I would like to do some live performance with the slime, so ideally I would like to slime a dancer.

Should we expect a slime couture collection ?
no, I only make temporary outfits to be caught on film or photo.

Is your slime ‘green’ ?
The slime is ‘green’ in the way that it can be recycled. You can create different silhouettes using the slime over and over. The only problem is that the slime takes everything in. so by the end of the shoot with gaga we ended with a pile of slime filled with multiple wigs, shoes, jewelry and a catsuit.

Fascinations for new materials ?
I can get a fascination with almost all kinds of material. With a new found material, I exploit it’s limits and explore its every possibility. It is amazing to see how a material can change in appearance and original purpose, when you incorporate the skin and body
