Anti-beauty photography by Phebe Schmidt
Australian artist Phebe Schmidt’s standout visuals rethink contemporary photography and have already inspired collaborations with indie fashion labels as Kuwaii, Per Tim, Seb Brown, Renee Farina, Sui Zhen, and Oscar Key Sung. Her own creative output also appears in Australian art and fashion magazines as Oyster Mag and Pitch Zine. Her aesthetic responds to the dichotomu of our digital age psychology, the allure and repulsion that coexist in our consumption of images. One of the motifs in her work is foodstuffs (literally) and the indelible plasticity of the everyday (more subtly).
